    Dominic Box is a Senior Business Manager for Frazer-Nash Consultancy looking after the companies work in the Nuclear Decommissioning sector. He has been with Frazer-Nash for nearly ten years and before that worked in both technical and managerial positions for BNFL. Dominic was a Radiation Protection advisor for Sellafield looking after the High Hazard facilities in the late 90s so has direct experience of the complexity of the challenges faced in waste management and decommissioning.

  • Corhyn Parr

    Corhyn Parr is CEO of Nuclear Waste Services, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s waste management organisation. She was previously Director of Integrated Waste at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), a role which includes bringing together RWM and LLWR into a single waste organisation and creating a national programme for integrated waste management to improve how waste is retrieved, treated, transported, stored, and disposed of.

    She has worked within the nuclear industry for over 20 years since graduating as a mechanical engineer, supporting nuclear operations, generation, decommissioning and waste management across most nuclear licensed sites in the UK. She has also worked on nuclear projects internationally in Europe, Canada and USA. She is the current Chair of the Nuclear Skills Strategy Group (NSSG) which is an important national alliance for skills and provides a space for Government and industry to join forces on the right skills strategy and plan for nuclear. A core passion of hers is to drive for a fully diverse and inclusive nuclear sector and as Exec sponsor for D&I at NDA is steering efforts across the group to build a new Inclusion strategy to deliver step change.

  • Euan Hutton

    Euan Hutton was appointed as Sellafield Ltd’s interim Chief Executive Officer in 2023. He has enjoyed a 31-year career in the national and international nuclear industry, a career he started at Sellafield as a graduate.

    He has previously held senior leadership roles with responsibility for the decommissioning of our highest nuclear risks and hazards on the Sellafield site, giving him extensive understanding of Sellafield’s operations and challenges.

    Euan was appointed as director of environment, health, and safety in 2016, where he supported the transition of the company to being a wholly owned subsidiary of the NDA.

    As interim site director, Euan was responsible for the operations of the Sellafield site.

  • Frank Rainford

    Frank joined the NDA in February 2017. He has responsibility for security, cyber, information governance, ICT, the CEO’s Office, the Project Management Office and the provision of other Corporate Centre services.

    Prior to joining the NDA, Frank spent 3 years as the Executive responsible for the GE Aviation Aero-structures business in the UK. Previously he had spent 21 years with BAE Systems and predecessor companies in the UK and Saudi Arabia, holding several senior roles including Transformation and Project Management Director. Frank studied at Lancaster University gaining an MBA and MSc in Project Management.

  • David Malley

    David Malley is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years experience in defence systems, for both naval and airborne platforms.  His experience covers the design, development , testing and support of electrical , electronic and mechanical systems on all iterations of the UK Naval Nuclear Steam Raising plant as well as airborne platforms.  He is also experienced in civil nuclear and has conducted research into fusion, Advanced Modular Reactors, Small modular reactors and microreactors for use in space.  A Masters in Renewable energy systems adds another perspective of the energy sector.

    Dave has worked for Rolls Royce, Thales, The Nuclear AMRC and is currently working as a Chief Engineer in the Power and Energy sector of the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry.

    Lynne was appointed by the National Nuclear Skills Task Force In October 23 to head up Destination Nuclear, the UKs first ever cross sector communications programme. This Government backed ambitious programme was launched in February 2024 and aims to support the sectors aim to attract more people, particularly in the critical skills areas, and grow the workforce required to deliver the UKs nuclear ambition in defence and net zero energy.

    The programme has gained future support and Lynne will continue her secondment from EDF to develop the national strategy and lead the team delivering the programme in collaboration with the whole sector.

    Experienced in Marketing and PR, Lynne joined the nuclear industry as part of a start up team that developed British Energy’s B2B business and took it to market leading position. In a move to EDF Nuclear New Build she has lead on the development of regional and national skills capacity and capability solutions as a key part of project delivery and risk mitigation. EDF having successfully achieved approval and investment for Hinkley Point C, she moved on to lead the early socio-economic work on Bradwell B and supported the early work on the investment case for Sizewell C.

    Lynne continued to work closely with Government and Industry as she moved to a short term secondment as Director for The UKs Nuclear Sector Deal. This involved identifying critical areas that required cross sector collaboration and bringing people together to work on solutions. This role included support to the Great British Nuclear Taskforce Capability and Capacity sprint team

    Throughout her career she has worked on a number of global projects in Asia and Europe as an SME and Chair of various working groups for IAEA.

    Mark graduated from Coventry University with an honours degree in Control Systems Engineering and joined VSEL shipbuilders in 1987 as a graduate apprentice, working on a range of nuclear submarine build programmes during the formative years of his career.

    In 1997 he joined Devonport Management Limited at Devonport Royal Dockyard (which itself joined the Babcock International Group in 2007). There he held posts such as the first Trident Facility Plant Manager, Nuclear Operations Director and finally Nuclear Safety and Quality Director.

    Mark joined Cavendish Nuclear in April 2013 as Managing Director, Dounreay and during his 2½ years there helped steer the site through several significant contractual, safety and organisational challenges.  He then spent the next 4 years establishing Cavendish Nuclear Japan and securing a number of first of a kind decommissioning contracts with Japanese businesses. 

    Mark rejoined Dounreay as MD in March 2020, guiding it through Covid, the process of re-joining the NDA Group and finally the joining with Magnox to form NRS. In June 2024 Mark joined DESNZ on secondment to lead delivery of the National Nuclear Sector Plan for Skills, leveraging his career in defence, civil, private, and public sector companies.

    Mark is married to Carole and has two adult daughters.

    Monica Mwanje brings over 20 years’ delivery experience gained primarily in the civil nuclear sector. She started her career as a graduate chemical engineer, over time progressing into business development and strategic roles.

    In 2015 she founded MM Creative Solutions (MMCS). MMCS provides strategic consultancy services for organisations seeking growth and transformation in nuclear and other regulated sectors.

    Alongside this Monica is the co-founder and Managing Director of Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear (IDN) which launched in 2019. IDN is a fast-growing, solution focussed organisation highlighting the importance of workplace inclusion, diversity and equity across the industry and the benefits it can bring.  IDN provides evidence-based resources and training to educate, undertakes research, facilitates conversations amongst stakeholders and advises on meaningful steps to engage, retain and propel change for the current and future workforce.

    Monica is also a Board Director and Steering Group Member for the Northern Nuclear Alliance, an External Advisory Board Member for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Fusion Energy (Fusion CDT), an advisory board member for Deep Isolation, an advisor to Racial Equality in Nuclear UK, and a trustee for the youth charity RECLAIM.

Paul Barker

  • Paul Barker

    Paul is a Principal Simulation Engineer at DBD International, joining the company in 2024 and acting as Technical Lead for the Group Waste Model project.

    Paul has over 25 years’ experience delivering operational research projects across different domains in both Public and Private sectors. After a degree in Astrophysics, Paul commenced his career with the Ministry of Defence working on long term procurement projects, modelling the prosecution of time sensitive targets as well as deploying to command HQs in the UK and elsewhere supporting front line troops. Further work followed including balancing investment in intelligence and the optimisation of commercial airspace before Paul moved into the Oil and Gas domain. Here Paul led the logistics modelling team for the largest project in the world, successfully simulating a global supply chain delivery to site.

    Paul has also carried out modelling and simulation projects supporting the health sector, national law enforcement and most recently the government’s asylum programme.

    Robert Marwood leads the Robotics and Technology group in the Decommissioning and Waste Services business unit of AtkinsRéalis. He is responsible for the delivery and growth of innovative projects that deploy robotics and digital technologies to solve client challenges and deliver decommissioning faster, safer, cheaper. Robert has over fourteen years’ experience in the nuclear industry, and a track record of delivering innovative nuclear decommissioning & waste management solutions to the highest standards.

     

    Robert’s roles have included Responsible Engineer at Sellafield, where he was responsible for the delivery and Intelligent Customer oversight of mechanical engineering design on projects within the Site Remediation value stream. Prior to his current role at AtkinsRéalis, Robert was engineering manager for several projects and active demonstrators. These include: using industrial robots and laser cutting tooling to size reduce legacy fuel skips and gloveboxes remotely; deploying robotic arms into gloveboxes and using teleoperation to achieve remote glovebox operations; using AI to demonstrate the future potential of autonomous sorting and segregating of nuclear wastes.

    Robert is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and gained a master’s in engineering at the University of Durham in the UK.

    From 1 May Rob, who was previously a non-executive director on the NRS board, moved into the role of interim CEO.

    Rob’s 35-year career in the nuclear industry started at the Atomic Weapons Establishment as a Board Director, where he eventually became Acting Managing Director.

    Moving to Rolls-Royce as Director of Strategic Programmes – Nuclear, Rob then became President of Nuclear Services and Projects before being appointed as President/CEO Civil Nuclear and a Board Member of Rolls-Royce Power Engineer plc.

    Rob is an advisor to the UK Atomic Energy Authority’s fusion reactor programme.

    Rob has an honours degree in Chemical Engineering, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors and is a Chartered Engineer.

Sarah D'Lima

    After completing a Masters in Nuclear Science and Technology from the University of Manchester, Sarah went on to start a career in nuclear waste and decommissioning starting on the nucleargraduates scheme sponsored by Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS). After completing the graduate scheme, Sarah joined NRS, playing a major role in what was Europe's largest land remediation project at the time, and managing legacy waste. In 2021, Sarah joined Nuclear Waste Services (NWS), using her operational experience to support customers in Waste Services,  to identify, procure and deliver successful waste management projects which are of value to the taxpayer and reduce waste disposed of to the Low Level Waste Repository. Sarah has volunteered with the Nuclear Institute's Young Generation Network (YGN) since 2020; their mission is to encourage and develop the UK's early career professionals and ensure their voice is heard in shaping the future of our sector. Sarah is proud to be the Chair of the NI YGN for 2024.

  • Tom Greatrex

    Tom Greatrex became Chief Executive of the NIA in 2016.  Formerly Member of Parliament for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, Tom was shadow energy minister from 2011 – 2015 and served as a member of the Energy Select Committee from 2010 and from 2007-2010 was a policy adviser in the Scotland Office, including on energy.

    In a varied prior career, he was a Director of Corporate Affairs for the NHS in Scotland, a chief officer in local government and a GMB trade union official in England. Outside of work his main interests are family, football (Fulham) and film. He is a member of the FA Council, the governing body of English football, vice-chair of the Football Supporters’ Association and a school governor.

    Zac Scott is the Director of JET Decommissioning & Repurposing (JDR) at UK Atomic Energy Authority. JDR is one of UKAEA’s landmark programmes, representing the next stage in the lifecycle of the Joint European Torus, which revolutionised research into fusion energy. JDR will build on the skills base developed during 40 years of operations to inform the development of future fusion power plants and research machines. It will decommission through innovative methods, minimizing waste and maximizing tritium recovery. JDR will also repurpose JET’s facilities, assets and support systems for UK science and innovation, enabling the growth of the fusion cluster. With a background in Explosive Engineering, Zac ran complex programmes within the Ministry of Defence for ~10 years, covering robotics, technical exploitation, detection, and hazard mitigation. He has experience of programme leadership across government, including as an Infrastructure Projects Authority Reviewer. He has supported Nuclear Threat Reduction work at all levels, working with international partners in capability development and operational delivery.
